1. Transportation and installation
German HBMRSCC seriesLoad CellSuitable for measuring axial load in the tensile direction. Because they provide highly accurate static and dynamic load measurements, they must be handled very carefully. Special care must be taken when transporting and installing equipment. Dropping or striking the sensor may cause permanent damage.
The installation guidelines for RSCC series load cells list the allowable limits for mechanical, thermal, and electrical stresses. These factors must be considered when planning measurement settings, during installation, and during final operation.
In addition, incorrect handling or installation may lead to explosion-proof failure. During the installation process, relevant installation regulations must be followed, and the installation conditions referenced in the certificate of conformity and/or type inspection certificate must be met.
2. Structure and working principle
The measuring element is a steel component, and a stress gauge (SG) is suitable for this component. The layout of the SG should ensure that when the load acts on the sensor, two SGs are stretched and the other two SGs are compressed.
3. Environmental temperature
RSCC compensates for the influence of temperature on zero signal and sensitivity.
In order to obtain the best measurement results, it is necessary to adhere to the nominal (rated) temperature range. Measurement errors related to temperature are caused by heating (such as radiant heat) or cooling on one side. Radiation shielding and all-round insulation can produce significant improvements, but must not form a force diversion.
4. Humidity and other environmental conditions
The German HBM RSCC series weighing sensors are sealed, so they are completely insensitive to humidity and humidity. The sensor meets the IP68 protection level specified in DIN EN 60529 (test condition: 100 hours under 1m water column). However, the load cells must be protected against permanent moisture.
The weighing sensor must be protected from chemical attack on the sensor body steel or cables. For stainless steel weighing sensors, please note that acids and all materials that release ions can also corrode stainless steel and its welds. If there is any corrosion, it may cause the load cell to fail. In this case, appropriate protective measures must be taken.
5. Accumulation
Dust, dirt, and other foreign objects must not accumulate to the extent that they are sufficient to transfer some of the measurement force, thereby rendering the measurement invalid (force diversion).
