【Guangzhou ZhongxinAutomation: The performance of each weighing sensor varies depending on the environment. Before installing the measurement system, planners should conduct a comprehensive analysis of the environmental factors that affect the weighing sensors and installation accessories, maintain the weighing sensor application in a controlled environment, and use equipment indoors as much as possible to reduce environmental impacts. When the load cell application must be outdoors, the design of the measurement system (including calibration) will need to mitigate the impact of additional environmental factors to obtain accurate readings. These environmental factors include debris accumulation, temperature, wind, precipitation, ice, sunlight, humidity, other electrical systems, and ground conditions. Among them, temperature, moisture, and electromagnetic interference are the most important.
1. Temperature
If the ambient temperature fluctuates, please use a temperature compensated load cell. This information appears in the load cell model data table. Uncompensated devices perform poorly in extreme temperatures. Therefore, it is important to protect them from the effects of radiation heat and cooling systems. Installing protective covers or insulation around equipment can provide protection against extreme temperatures.
2. Moisture
If the operating environment includes moisture or precipitation, please discuss with the manufacturer how the load cell performs in humid environments. Moisture can cause a short circuit in the current, leading to measurement errors and often damaging the load cell.
Take preventive measures to avoid corrosion of the weighing sensor device and bracket, and regularly inspect both. When the equipment may be exposed to damp environments, please use non corrosive metals such as stainless steel. In addition, keep the load cell and surrounding surfaces dry. Check for cracks and pitting caused by corrosion that may cause damage to the weighing sensor and equipment malfunction.
3. Electromagnetic interference
Stray current may interfere with the reading of the weighing sensor and is another possible source of equipment damage. Properly cover and secure all wiring and lighting. Ground the load cell fixture to the specifications outlined by the manufacturer. Avoid welding near the load cell, as the stray current generated by welding can seriously damage the components.
Magnetic and electric fields can interfere with the weighing system signal. To avoid this situation, please place the load cell, connecting cables, and electronic equipment in a shielded enclosure.
