1. Connected in four and six wire configurations

  

When the six wire configuration is calibratedLoad CellWhen connecting to a four wire configuration amplifier, the sensing lead of the load cell must be connected to the corresponding excitation lead.

  

When connecting a four wire configuration load cell to a six wire configuration amplifier, a related bridge must be connected between the sensing lead and excitation lead at the input end of the amplifier.

2. Shorten cable length

  

When using a 6-wire configuration, the 6-wire cable of the weighing sensor can be cut off without affecting measurement accuracy.

  

The weighing sensor cable in a four wire configuration should not be shortened as specific cable lengths were taken into account during calibration.

  

Shortening the cable will change the specifications of the 4-wire cable load cell.

  

3. Cable extension

  

Only shielded and low capacitance measuring cables can be used to extend the cable, ensuring correct connection and minimal contact resistance.

  

The cables of the six wire load cell can be extended using the same type of cable.

  

The cable for the four wire weighing sensor should be extended using a six wire cable. At the connection point between the 4-wire and 6-wire cables, the excitation wire must be connected to the relevant induction wire.

  

4. Parallel connection (optional)

  

Only single point load cells with output alignment (nominal (rated) sensitivity and output resistance) are suitable for parallel connection. Many single point load cell types of HBM have this option.

  

5. EMC protection

  

Electric and magnetic fields usually generate interference voltage in the measurement circuit. Therefore:

  

-Only use shielded low capacitance measurement cables(German HBMThe cable meets these two conditions)

  

-Do not parallel the measurement cable to the power cord and control circuit. If this is not possible, please protect the measuring cable, such as in a rigid steel conduit

  

-To avoid stray magnetic fields from transformers, motors, and contact switches for optimal EMC protection, the load cells, connecting cables, and subsequent electronic devices should be placed in shielded enclosures.

  

Exceptions:

  

The weighing sensor with shielded circular cable has undergone EMC testing in accordance with the EC directive and has passed CE certification. But it is necessary to ensure that the shielding of the connecting cable is connected to the shielding shell of the electronic device.
