Electronic Weighbridge Fault Inspection and Resolution
Fault inspection and troubleshooting
1. Finding the fault location: If a truck scale malfunctions and cannot work, the first step is to identify the location where the fault occurred. The easiest way is to use a simulator to find. The steps are as follows: Disconnect the signal cable from the junction box to the instrument, insert the simulator socket (9-core D-type flat socket) into the weighing display controller interface J1, connect the power, and check if the weighing display controller is working properly. This indicates that the fault is on the weighing platform. If the weighing display controller is not working properly, the fault is on the weighing display. The troubleshooting of its faults must be carried out by specialized inspection personnel.
2. Scale platform fault analysis:
(1) Firstly, check the junction box for water vapor intrusion. If there is water vapor, wipe it with alcohol, and then dry it with a hair dryer to clean the interior.
(2) Check for short circuits in the wiring. Measure the resistance between the shielded wire and other wires using a multimeter inside the junction box for any short circuits. If a short circuit is found, the cable needs to be replaced. If there is no fault, continue to search according to the following steps.
(3) The steps to find sensor faults are as follows:
a. Use a multimeter inside the junction box to check the resistance value between the positive (E+) and negative (E -) of the excitation power supply, which is approximately 780 amps; Omega/ Number of sensors.
b. Disconnect the sensors one by one, measure the impedance value between the positive and negative excitation terminals or the positive and negative output terminals using the method of a, check if it matches the resistance value of the certificate of conformity, and identify the damaged sensor. Of course, you can also press Next to search.
c. Place the weights with the maximum weighing capacity of 1/(n-1) on each load-bearing point of the weighing platform in sequence. If an incorrect value is found at any load-bearing point, it indicates that there is a problem with the sensor at that point and should be replaced.
Note: n represents the number of sensors.
