1German HBM force sensorWiring precautions

1. Only use shielded low capacitance HBM cables.

2. The wiring of the measurement cable should not be parallel to the power cord or control circuit.

If this is impossible (for example, in a cable pit), use rigid steel conduit to protect the measuring cable and maintain a distance of at least 50 cm from other cables. The power cord or control circuit should be twisted (15 turns per meter).

3. Avoid stray magnetic fields generated by transformers, motors, and contact switches.

4. Do not ground sensors, amplifiers, and indicators multiple times. All devices in the measurement chain must be connected to the same grounding conductor.

5. Connect the cable shielding layer to the plug housing.

Connect to terminal:

6. The shielding can be approached through a cut in the cable sheath

7. Widely connect the shield to the casing ground.

Connect to plug:

Connect the cable shield extensively to the connector housing.

To expand the wiring, we recommend using shielded pair HBM low capacitance measurement cables.

2、 Important precautions during the installation process of German HBM force sensors

1. Gently operate the sensor.

2. When measuring compression force, ensure that the supporting structure is rigid.

3. The force application surface must be completely clean and fully load-bearing.

4. Observe the engagement depth of the threaded rod or steering knuckle hole.

5. Do not overload the sensor.

6. Do not allow welding current to flow through the sensor. If there is a risk that this situation may occur, an appropriate low ohm connection must be used to electrically bypass the sensor. For example, HBM provides a highly flexible EEK grounding cable that can be screwed on above and below the sensor.
