Common Sense of Electronic Scale Calibration

In our practical work, we often encounter periodic verification of electronic scales by technical supervision departments. Why?

This is because electronic scales are the basis of measurement in the process of trade settlement. According to the relevant provisions of the Metrology Law of the People's Republic of China, the functional department of technical supervision evaluates the metrological performance of the scales and determines whether they meet legal requirements to ensure fair and accurate transactions.

Below is a brief introduction to the verification regulations for electronic scales. Please refer to the following section for practical work: The following section is excerpted from the "Verification Regulations for Digital Indicating Scales JJG539-1997"

1、 Nouns

1. Verification:

All work carried out to evaluate the metrological performance of a scale and determine whether it meets legal requirements.

2. First calibration:

Calibration of scales that have never been calibrated before.

3. Subsequent verification:

A-cycle verification;

Verification after B repair;

The calibration applied for before the use of the scale newly put into mandatory calibration;

Verification before the expiration date of D-cycle verification. The verification is usually based on the requirements of the inspected unit or user, or due to some reason, the seal or signature becomes invalid;

4. In use verification:

Verify whether the scale in use meets the requirements of the metrological verification regulations, is in good working condition, and is used correctly and reliably. Usually, in use inspection is a supervisory inspection.

2、 Measurement and technical requirements

1. Medium accuracy level III

2. The calibration graduation value is equal to the actual graduation value, that is, e=d. For example, the graduation value of the 15 Kg barcode scale we use is e=5g

3. Calibration graduation N=full scale/graduation value, for example, the graduation number of our 15 Kg barcode scale n=15000g/5g=3000

4. Maximum allowable error in calibration:

(1) The maximum allowable deviation and maximum allowable error of the electronic scale after the first calibration and major repair. The calibration mass m Ⅲ& Plusmn; 0.5e 0& Le; M& Le; 500 e& Plusmn; 1.0e 500 e< M& Le; 2000 e& Plusmn; 1.5e 2000 e< M& Le; Taking a 15 kg barcode electronic scale as an example for 10000 e:

Maximum allowable error calibration mass m III& Plusmn; 2.5 g 0& Le; M& Le; 2.5 Kg& Plusmn; 5.0 g

(2) The maximum allowable error for in-service testing is twice the maximum allowable error for initial testing.

3、 Processing of verification results and verification cycle:

For scales that pass the first and subsequent inspections, a verification certificate should be issued, stamped with a verification seal or pasted with a certificate of conformity; The dates of the first and subsequent verifications, as well as the validity period of subsequent verifications, should be indicated; During periods that may change the weighing performance of the scale or directly affect the weighing value, seal or lead seal should be added. The original calibration certificate and seal or lead seal of the scale that has passed the inspection during use should remain unchanged.

The scale that fails the first and subsequent calibration shall be notified of the calibration results, and shall not be allowed to leave the factory, be sold, or be used;
