Product Introduction

K-C10 is a high-end sensor designed specifically for compression force - it can be configured according to your needs. New feature: IO Link option with integrated amplifier. The following is an explanation of each option.

1. Range

The measurement range of this sensor is 2.5 kN to 1 MN.

2. Measure the number of bridges

The C10 force sensor offers two versions: single bridge (SB) or double bridge (DB). The dual bridge sensor has two independent measurement circuits, therefore the sensor has two output terminals. This can be used to connect two different amplifiers that work independently.

3. Rated output adjustment

The rated output range of C10 force sensor is 4 mV/V to 4.9 mV/V (steel model) or 2 mV/V to 3 mV/V (aluminum model). According to requirement (J), the sensor can be adjusted to 4 mV/V (or 2 mV/V for aluminum models). In this case, the output resistance will also be adjusted accordingly, so that you can use one amplifier input to connect multiple C10 sensors in parallel.

Note: If you order C10 with integrated amplifier, the sensor will be adjusted as a measurement chain - no passive adjustment is required (N).

4. Calibration

The standard version C10 comes with calibration covering 100% of the measurement range (1). If needed, HBK can provide calibration covering 50% of the measurement range (5). If the 50% option is selected, the rated output value will also be halved.

5. Sensor recognition

You can order sensors that come with a 'Sensor Electronic Data Sheet' (TEDS, T). In this case, your sensor will be equipped with an electronic memory in which the technical parameters of the sensor are pre programmed. If the sensor is connected to a host with TEDS 0-wire function (such as HBK's Quantum series or ClipX module), the host will automatically read the relevant data and complete the setup process.

Note: TEDS is only applicable to sensors without integrated amplifier modules.

6. Mechanical Design

C10 comes standard with a base adapter (load base) (W). According to the requirements, we can also provide flange sensors without base adapters (N). This can lower the height of the sensor. Please note the requirements mentioned in the manual regarding the surface quality of the C10 flange installation substrate.

7. Plug protection

When ordering C10, a plug protection device can be optionally selected. This device is a solid square profile installed around the connector to prevent mechanical damage to the connector (P). The standard configuration does not include a plug protection device (U).

8. Electrical Connection Bridge A

The standard version uses a bayonet connector (compatible with PT02E106P6P) (B). You can also order a threaded plug (compatible with PC02E106P) (G). In addition, there is a third variant where the force sensor is equipped with a fixed cable (K=6 m cable, V=15 m cable). In this version, all C10 sensors with a rated force greater than or equal to 25 kN meet the IP68 protection level. The sensor with digital output (VAIO) is connected through a 4-pin M12 plug (00A4).

9. Fixed installation cable plug version

If you order C10 with integrated cable, you can install a plug at the end of the cable to directly connect the force sensor to your amplifier.

10. Integrated amplifier

The standard C10 force sensor is a passive (mV/V) sensor (N). If you order a C10 (VAIO) equipped with an integrated amplifier and IO Link interface, the C10 will be provided as a calibrated measurement chain. After connecting to the IO Link master station, the device will send the correct measurement values in units of N. Please note that you need to choose an M12 plug as the electrical connection. Since TEDS and output adjustment functions are not required, you cannot select these options simultaneously when ordering an integrated amplifier.

11. Firmware version

If you order C10 with integrated amplifier, you will receive the latest firmware version, unless you choose an older version that is still available.
